This first evening offers a gentle introduction to Morocco, with the option of a traditional dinner in your riad or at a selected local restaurant. Between carved wood, zellige tiles, warm colors and the sounds of the old city, Marrakech sets the tone for the journey ahead.

Spend the day exploring Marrakech with a local guide. Visit the city’s main historical and cultural highlights, such as the Bahia Palace, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Koutoubia area and the souks of the medina. Your guide helps you understand the city’s architecture, crafts, traditions and daily life.

In the afternoon, the program can be adapted to your interests. You may visit the Majorelle Garden, explore artisan workshops, enjoy a hammam or take time for a slower discovery of the medina. Leave Marrakech after breakfast and travel across the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka road. The journey offers dramatic views, traditional villages and a gradual change of scenery as you move from the ochre city toward the mountain passes and southern landscapes.

Stop in Telouet to visit the former Glaoui kasbah, once linked to powerful trade routes between Marrakech and the Sahara. Continue along a beautiful road toward Aït Ben Haddou, passing through small villages and valleys. On arrival, explore the UNESCO-listed ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, famous for its earthen architecture and striking hilltop setting.

After breakfast, continue toward Ouarzazate, often considered the gateway to southern Morocco. Depending on your interests, visit the Taourirt Kasbah or the cinema studios before continuing east toward Skoura and the Rose Valley.

The road passes through palm groves, adobe villages and kasbah landscapes that reflect the traditional architecture of the south. Today, travel from the southern valleys toward the heart of the High Atlas. The route leads through rural landscapes, mountain roads and traditional villages, gradually bringing you into the peaceful setting of Aït Bouguemez, often known as the Happy Valley.

On arrival, settle into your mountain lodge or guesthouse and enjoy the calm atmosphere of the valley. Depending on timing, take a short orientation walk through nearby villages, meet local residents and discover terraced fields, walnut trees and traditional earthen houses. This is one of the most authentic and peaceful parts of the itinerary.

Spend a full day discovering Aït Bouguemez at a gentle pace. With a local guide, walk through traditional villages, fields and mountain paths while learning about daily life in this remote part of the High Atlas. The valley is known for its wide landscapes, welcoming communities and preserved rural atmosphere.

Depending on your interests and walking level, the day can include a short hike to the Sidi Moussa granary viewpoint, a visit to local villages, a family-hosted lunch or a simple cultural exchange around agriculture, architecture and Berber traditions. The evening is free to relax at the lodge and enjoy the silence of the mountains.

After breakfast, leave Aït Bouguemez and begin the scenic return journey to Marrakech. The road passes through mountain landscapes, rural villages and the Demnate region, with the possibility of stopping at Imi n’Ifri, a natural bridge known for its impressive rock formations.

Arrive in Marrakech later in the day and check back into your riad. The rest of the afternoon is free for a hammam, last-minute shopping, a rooftop drink or a relaxed dinner in the medina. This final night brings you back to the city after several days in Morocco’s mountain and valley landscapes.

Enjoy your final morning in Marrakech depending on your flight schedule. You may have time for a short walk through the medina, a visit to a garden, a coffee on a rooftop or some final shopping in the souks.
