Mount Toubkal Guided Trek

Arrive in Marrakech, where your private driver welcomes you at the airport and transfers you to your riad or hotel. The first day is kept light so you can settle in, rest after your journey and enjoy the atmosphere of the ochre city.

Depending on your arrival time, take a short walk near the medina, enjoy mint tea on a rooftop or have a relaxed welcome dinner. This first evening gives you time to prepare before heading into the High Atlas Mountains.

Leave Marrakech after breakfast and travel toward Imlil, the main gateway to the Toubkal National Park and the High Atlas trekking routes. The road gradually leaves the city behind and climbs into mountain landscapes, passing valleys, villages and scenic viewpoints.

On arrival in Imlil, meet your local mountain guide and enjoy a first acclimatization walk through nearby Berber villages, terraced fields and walnut groves. This gentle first mountain day helps you adjust to the altitude and understand the local rhythm of the valley before the trek to the refuge begins.

After breakfast, begin the guided trek from Imlil toward the Toubkal Refuge. The route follows mountain trails and mule paths, passing through Aroumd and continuing toward the higher valley landscapes of the Toubkal region.

Along the way, enjoy views of rugged peaks, traditional mountain paths and changing High Atlas scenery. The walk requires a steady pace but remains non-technical in normal conditions. Arrival at the refuge in the afternoon, where you settle in and prepare for the summit attempt the next day.

Start early for the Mount Toubkal summit ascent with your guide. The climb is demanding but non-technical in normal conditions, following rocky mountain terrain toward the highest point in North Africa. From the summit, enjoy wide views over the High Atlas and surrounding valleys, weather permitting.

After time at the top, descend carefully back to the refuge, then continue down toward Imlil. This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the itinerary, combining effort, mountain scenery and the sense of achievement that comes with reaching the summit.

Enjoy a slower recovery day in Imlil after the summit ascent. Depending on your energy level, take a gentle walk through nearby villages, visit local homes, discover terraced fields or simply relax at the lodge with mountain views.

This day allows time to appreciate the High Atlas beyond the summit. It can include a local lunch, tea with a family, a short viewpoint walk or a cultural exchange around mountain life, agriculture and Berber traditions.

After breakfast, leave Imlil and return to Marrakech. The road descends from the High Atlas back toward the city, offering a final view of the mountain landscapes before returning to the medina atmosphere.

On arrival, settle back into your riad. The rest of the day is free for a hammam, a relaxing massage, a rooftop dinner, a garden visit or final shopping in the souks. This day offers a comfortable transition after the trekking section.

Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a final morning in Marrakech. You may have time for a rooftop coffee, a short medina walk, a garden visit or last-minute shopping in the souks.

Your private transfer takes you to Marrakech airport for departure. The journey ends after a complete High Atlas trekking experience, combining Marrakech, Imlil, Toubkal Refuge, Mount Toubkal summit and Berber mountain villages.
