Morocco Tour Packages from Vetted Local Experts

On this page, a Morocco tour package means something specific: a fully private itinerary, built and operated by a licensed Moroccan agency we’ve checked ourselves, with a starting price per person shown before you commit. Your party, your vehicle, your driver-guide, your dates.

The difference

Package ≠ group departure

That’s not how the big US-facing names sell it. Intrepid Travel runs small-group departures capped at 12–16 travellers. Gate 1 Travel sells escorted trips on fixed dates. TourRadar lists both, plus several hundred operators. All fine products — just built around a shared bus and a departure calendar. A package booked here shares nothing and waits for nobody.

Inside the package

What a Morocco tour package actually includes

Strip the marketing away and a package is five things: transport, beds, a driver who knows the roads, the desert logistics, and a human being on the ground when your flight lands late.

A private vehicle and driver-guide for the whole route. Air-conditioned minivan for a family, 4x4 for the Dadès gorges, the Anti-Atlas tracks and the last stretch into Erg Chigaga.

✕The fine print

What it isn’t: a seat on a 40-person coach, or a Tuesday departure you have to build a holiday around. Not all morocco package tours are created equal — some are private-only, most are not, and the honest ones say so on the itinerary page.

By length

Package types by duration

Prices below are per person, based on two travellers sharing, 3–4 star riads and guesthouses, shoulder season (October–November, March–April). Solo travellers, Christmas and New Year, 5-star riads and luxury desert camps all push the number up.

7 days — from $1,750 per person

The shortest circuit our agencies publish, and a complete first trip. Seven days gives you the imperial cities and the desert: Marrakech in, over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Aït Benhaddou, a night in a Dadès kasbah, the Todra gorge, a camel trek and a night in camp at Erg Chebbi, then Fez and out.

Smart move: fly into Marrakech and out of Fez (or the reverse). One-way itineraries remove the 8-hour return drive and cost roughly the same.

Who it suits: first trips, honeymoons where both people want cities and dunes, travellers who want the Sahara without giving up a second week of holiday.

8 to 9 days — from $1,950 per person

This is where most bookings land. The extra one or two days buy the things a seven-day route has to rush: a second night in the Sahara so you are not arriving at dusk and leaving at dawn, a proper stop in Ouarzazate’s film studios or the Draa Valley, or a trekking day in the High Atlas around Imlil and Toubkal.

Who it suits: travellers who want the Sahara as a centrepiece rather than an add-on, active couples who want a mountain day, families with teenagers who travel well.

10 to 11 days — from $2,185 per person

Ten days adds Rabat, Meknes and Essaouira without any leg feeling rushed. You keep the imperial cities and the desert, then finish on the Atlantic: windy beaches, seafood at the port, ramparts, and a 2.5-hour transfer back to Marrakech for your flight.

Who it suits: travellers who want cities, dunes and the coast in one trip, and anyone who would rather have a slow morning than a 6am departure every day.

12 to 15 days — from $2,450 per person

The full loop, and the version seasoned travellers stop regretting they didn’t book. Chefchaouen for two nights, Tangier if you want the Strait of Gibraltar, Fez, the Middle Atlas cedar forests, Merzouga, the Todra and Dadès gorges, Marrakech, Essaouira, then back over the mountains through Taroudant. At this length you can drop to Erg Chigaga instead of Erg Chebbi — bigger, quieter, further, reached by 4x4 track rather than tarmac.

Who it suits: second visits, sabbaticals, slow travellers who’d rather spend three nights somewhere than pass through it.

Decision guide

How to choose your Morocco package

We don’t start with an itinerary. We start with five decisions, in this order, because each one narrows the next.

01

Time before places

Your real number of days on the ground decides what is possible. The wish list comes second.

02

Protect what matters

Pick the one experience the trip is built around, and never trade it for an extra stop.

03

Compare like with like

Each circuit here is designed by a local agency with its own routes and hotels, so two quotes are only comparable when the route, the nights and the hotels are the same.

The five decisions, in order

1 / 5 reviewed

Decision 01

Count nights, not days

Arrival day disappears into customs and a transfer (Marrakech Menara to the medina is 15–20 minutes; Fez–Saïss to the medina, 25). Departure day is gone too. A “7-day” tour is really five full days.

Ask your agency

“How many full days do I actually have on the ground, once flights and transfers are removed?”

Rule of thumb

7 days ≈ 5 full days

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Private, as we list them. It’s your group alone in the vehicle with your driver-guide, and the itinerary is yours to change. Escorted and small-group operators — Intrepid, Gate 1, most TourRadar listings — sell fixed-date departures instead, and that’s a legitimate choice; it just isn’t what’s compared here.
